What is…

Due to the global pandemic we have made significant changes this year. Our goal is to bring you the same incredible experience you expect,  but minimize  any safety concerns or last minute Covid directives that might occur.

Our team decided to re-invent the TEDxNaperville experience. Our primary objective is to create an environment that allows you to choose your level of comfort and safety, and not compromise on the TEDxNaperville experience.

Our format is drastically different. So please read this entire page.

The big changes: We are limiting tickets to only 300 people. We will be offering socially distant Ideashops.  We are having an outdoor party for everyone. If not comfortable in person, we will have a livestream option.

We are partnering with North Central College and TEDxNCC (TEDxNorthCentralCollege). There is no better time to come together as a community and to bring our community together. Our event will be spanning a few different  building on the NCC campus, so some walking will be required, and its rain or shine.

Saturday Oct 2:

We will have only one speaker session, that will last approximately 1 ½ hours. The session will feature a few pre-recorded  TEDxNaperville 2021 speakers (who will be unable to attend), and the majority doing their talk in person *. The theater capacity is 600+, which allows our 300 maximum some physical space.

Ideashops: You will have an opportunity to join three different sessions we are calling Ideashops, these will be small intimate groups of no more than 30 people, and will feature current and previous TEDxNaperville speakers leading small groups in a lecture/conversation. They will be held in various classrooms in the North Central College campus.  All will be socially distant, and weather permitting some may even be outdoors. There will be over 10 Ideashop options you can pick when purchasing your ticket.

Reception/Party: We will be having party. A big party. And its outside.  We are utilizing an outdoor tent on the campus for serious food, including beer and wine. We have not seen most of you in almost 2 years. We miss you.  We look forward to catching up with you,  and still being socially distant as needed.

True to TEDxNaperville there will be experiential activities and surprises sprinkled throughout the day.

*Due to Covid concerns, each speaker will do a professionally produced talk in advance so that there is no risk of their idea not being shared. Everyone will have an opportunity to see the produced talks, including the virtual ticket holders. Live event viewers will see the same talk, but done live by the speaker in a more conversational format.
